Abstract: The Enid M. Baa Library of the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums (DLAM) has acquired an extensive collection of memorial booklets since the early 1970's for U. S. Virgin Islands residents. Booklets are usually more than 10 pages long and give details of the life and family connections of the deceased.

Born a native of Vieauez, Puerto Rico,
Antonio Rivera moved to St. Croix and
joined the Military Police from 1944-
1947. It was in 1947 that he was.
tranterred to St. Thomas with his
family and worked as a mechanic for
Trenam. This employment presented
many avenues of success, one of which
was his idea to create a "Wrecker"
which was one of the first seen here
on the island at that time. As a result
he started his Trucking and Wrecker
business which served the community.

Antonio Rivera has touched the lives
of many people, family, friends and
strangers alike. He will always be
remembered as "Tony the Wrecker Man"
to those outside his family. But. to
his family he will always be to them.
the backbone of strength, honesty.
and integrity that kept them together.,
