EULOGY

Pedro Maldonado was born on May 19, 1933 in Vieques, Puerto Rico.
t an early age he traveled to St. Croix, Virgin Islands, where he lived until
age 14. In 1949 he moved to St. Thomas and lived with his sister
Juana Rivera and the late Santo Rivera. He has been a loving uncle to
Anna Brathwaite of Queens, New York and Norma Huntley of
South Holland, Illinois.
Pedro had a vibrant personality and it showed. He was an energized
vocalist with Milo and the Kings, whether he was singing at the Palladium
in New York City or at the celebration of the 35th Anniversary at the
Frenchman's Reef Hotel, in St. Thomas. His life was a legacy of love and
affection. Especially his love for music and dance. He would be requested
at various functions to sing meringues, which were enjoyed by all. Until
recently, he performed with Jeppesen's Band and had many stints with
Rico and the Moon Walkers.
He was an active member of Frederick Evangelical Lutheran
Church, where he faithfully served as an Usher every Sunday. Special
recognition was presented to him on November 15, 1987 and on
June 19, 1993, where he was one of the Honorees for Father of the Year by
the Women of ELCA. Pedro was also a devoted member of Friendly Circle
Society and a member of the Men's Group.
He worked for the Government of the Virgin Islands with the
Department of Public works for 27 years until his retirement He was not
all play. He served on the Home Guard and was one of the founding
members of Paradise Social Group. He was always fair and fought a good
fight without complaint. He kissed his sister's hand and went to rest on
Saturday, April 13, 1996.
He will be remembered by his daughter, sisters, brothers, nieces
nephews, and their children. His humor, good cheer, and loving attitude
will truly be missed.
May he rest in peace.

TRIBUTES

To Our Brother In Christ:
The members of Friendly Circle are deeply saddened by the loss of our brother
Pedro Maldonado. Pedro was a devoted member of Friendly Circle from its
inception until the time of his passing. He gave generously of himself to our society
for the work in the Church. We will always cherish the love and friendship that he
so freely gave. Rest in peace.
Friendly Circle Society
To The Family of Pedro Maldonado:
Heartfelt condolences to the family of Pedro Maldonado. Over the years we came to
know him as a friendly person. He touched the lives of many people with his love and
willingness to be of assistance to all. We will miss his musical selections and good humor
at our activities. May the memories of all that he stood for and the dedication for family
and friends, help to comfort you during this period of bereavement. Rest in peace.
Paradise Social Group
On behalf of Milo and the Kings, we would like to our extend our sincerest condolences
on the passing of our friend Pedro. Whenever Pedro was around there was always
happiness, he always had one or two jokes to make you laugh. Pedro was serious about
his music and was always ready to play. After playing music at night, he always knew of
a party, and would say, "We are not going home tonight, we have to lime for awhile."
We will miss Pedro very much, not for his talent in music alone, but for his friendliness.
Our band members will surely miss him. May he rest in peace.
Milo & the Kings, Emile Milo Francis
MEMORIES OF A GOOD FRIEND, PEDRO MALDONADO, WHO IS FOREVER WITH
THE LORD
The staff and management of the Beverly Hill Guest House will undoubtedly miss you
very much. I personally will miss your serenades at my annual birthday party. Although
you will not be present with us, we are glad that you are out of your suffering.
May you rest in peace with your Savior whom you have loved and served. You have
always displayed Christian love with everyone, especially your fellow members of the
Frederick Lutheran Church.
We will not say good-bye because you will always be in our memory. We will meet
again around God's throne, where you will be singing for our Heavenly Father and He
will enjoy it. CANTA BUENO MI AMIGO!
Love, Una Abraham
TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF PEDRO MALDONADO

I felt a deep sadness when I heard of Pedro's passing. I remember Pedro best as that striking
tenor of Latin music with Milo & the Kings or at the annual birthday party of the Duchess
(Mrs. Una Abraham). He gave proudly and tremendously of his talent to this community.
May the contributions that Pedro made through his singing and the pleasant experience that
you shared with him, bring comfort and consolation to you in these days of bereavement. I
pray that the peace of God will be always with you.
In deepest sympathy,
Senator Adlah "Foncie" Donastorg, Jr.
