rculogy
Godfrey Lindqvist was born on May 4, 1921 in St. Thomas. He was married
to his wife Doris for the past 16 years. He has one son, Ecedro, and was
step-father to Cora and Cheryl.
Godfrey worked for over foty years with the old Center and Apollo
theatres and for a time with Cinema I. Most recently he wasinvolved with
the Senior Citizens Recreation Center in Sugar Estate.
Everyone will remember Godfrey trudging along day after day with his cap
on his head, carrying his shopping bag. He loved to hear his religious hymns
so in that bag he carried his radio and cassette playing them as he went about
doing his work. As he had no formal education everyone marvelled as to how
he knew to place the days on each change of picture for the theaters. He had
his way of doing things so if anything seemed odd he always questioned it.
His love for his family was so great that every opportunity he had to share a
birthday or Christmas card from them he did and was so excited about it. He
was a quiet man who, in his way, enjoyed the little things in life. He had a big
heart and cared for his family the best way he could. When it came to
dependability, punctuality, not to mention being trustworthy, Godfrey took
great honors for that. When he didn't show upfor work everyone knew he
was sick as come rain or shine he was always on the job.
Although he was informed for so long and in excruciating pain he clung to
his belief in God and always asked for his help.
Godfrey will be missed greatly he is in God's hands.
Sleep peacefully rest in peace.
