On

Sydney Oneal Levons

1920-1996
Sydney Oneal Levons was born on the island of Anguilla
and at an early age he joined the French Army. He migrated to
Curaao, where he met his wife Victoria. Oneal and Victoria
have been married for fifty years. This loving union produced
six daughters and two sons, one son deceased, sixteen grand-
children and one great-grandchild. While raising his family
with a firm but gentle hand, Oneal Levons worked at an oil
refinery in Curaqao for many years until he became self-em-
ployed. One of his most favorite pastimes, other than raising
his family, was playing dominoes. He was a good husband,
father, grandfather and friend.
We will always remember and cherish his memory forever.
May God bless you Oneal, and may you rest in peace.

To my loving husband:
Friendship is a chain of gold
Shaped in God's all perfect mold
Each link a smile, a laugh, a tear,
A grip of the hand, a word of cheer,
As steadfast as the ages roll,
Binding closer soul to soul,
No matter how far or heavy the load
Sweet is the journey on friendship road.
Until we meet again before God's throne.
Clothed in the spotless robe he gives his own
Until we know even as we have known
Good night, my love.
I love you well, but Jesus loves you best
Your wife, Victoria

Jesus we're depending on you to see us through. You are our
refuge and our strength in time of trouble. No, no it's not an easy
road but with Jesus beside us he will lighten our burden. Remind us
that in your mysterious providence all things work together for
good. But above all grant us the sure conviction that your will and
your way are best. As your children we want so much to say not
our will but thine will be done. Papa, we love you.
Your children, Nena, Judith, Perry,
Merle, Daphne, Yolanda and Lydia

Pop, Papa, Dad, our father
A very special, gentle person full of love
A friend, an advisor full of wisdom
A teacher of strong disciplines full of strength
A Papa who encouraged us to love and to be good to everyone
A Papa who taught us to share, full of kindness
A Papa who taught us to trust in God
A Papa whose advice in times of difficultywas,
"Leave it to the ledger of the Lord"
He would not want us to be sorrowful
This is the Pop, Papa, Dad that we knew
We shall always love him and remember all that he stood for.
Your children, Nena, Judith, Perry,
Merle, Daphne, Yolanda and Lydia

Papa... To the man I admired the most, my father OneaL He
was all the father a father could be. I will miss him but I know it is
for the best, and I leave it all in the hands of God. I will miss him
calling me Madam La, but I know he will still be here in my heart.
Your first daughter, Nena

Papa... I love you and will always love you. You left me at short
notice, but I realize that God loves you best The times that we
shared together will always be cherished and not forgotten. The
tears that I shed are not tears of grief but of Joy knowing that our
Saviour has made a place for you to rest in peace.
Loe you, your daughter Judith and son-in-law Dudley

Dearest Papa .. Forty-seven years ago you were the proud
father bringing me home. Today you are going home to your Father
who is awaiting you, his son, with open arms. You are now in the
arms of Jesus the Great Physician no more pain and suffering for
you. Papa, you were everything to me, most of all my best friend,
my consultor and my confidante. You have left a void in my life
that time will heal but can never be filled. Our times together hold
fond memories that will always be close to my heart. So until we
meet again, rest eternally.
Your loving son, Perry

Papa ... There are many examples left to be the ones we love. I
chose to follow after your hard work and perserverance. Thanks for
your love.
Your son Perry

Papa ... We will remember you forever. You were all a father,
grandfather and father-in-law could be and more. You told us to
put God first in our lives. You taught us to love and care for each
other from our childhood days. God lent you to us for a while to
instill in us good character and values. Now he has called you to
another mission. We thank him for those precious years. Now we
say good bye and commend you to his care.
Love, Merle, Lucian and Luciana

O outstanding dad among all dads
N ever too busy to listen or to give of himself unselfishly
E everything you wanted in a father and father-in-law
A always lending a helping hand
L oving and caring
These are the memories I have of a truly remarkable father. Rest
in peace.
Love, Daphne and Max

Pai... Papa... to the one and only, the king of kings, the father of
all fathers, to the one who showed me more love than any father
could. Maybe not through his words but definitely through his
actions, but it was there. And now knowing that you may not be
here with me in the flesh but surely in spirit, I say thank you Papa,
thank you for your strength, your love, your kindness, but most of
all thank you for being my father.
Your loving daughter Daphne

Papa, oh Papa ... Words cannot express the loss I feel in losing
you. I knew this day would come but I never dreamed it would be
that soon. I find it hard to adjust. You were a rare gem, a very
special person. You were the perfect example of a gentleman and a
good father. You have been a role model to many. I thank God for
your life; and event though the family circle has been broken, as you
called on your God to have mercy upon you in your moments of
pain, I believe He has granted your request and look forward to see
you again in the Rapture some sweet day.
Your daughter Yolanda and son-in-law Romez

Papa... Though words can't express the feeling I have inside, life
must go on. But living without having you around just won't be
easy. I am saddened that you are gone and I will miss you. How-
ever, memories I hold so dear in my heart, during your last days I
remember how we prayed together and at times you still had a
sense of humor. You are gone Pop, but not forgotten.
Your daughter Lydia

Papa... The strife is o'er, the battle won. On Thursday, October
24,199, you were gently led home by the Heavenly Father. Words
can become such inadequate messengers at a time like this. It is not
easy trying to cope with the death of a loved one. Papa, you were a
giant of a man, a good husband, a super father and a great grandfa-
ther. Danny, Sasha and I will always cherish the times we spent
together and look forward to meeting you at those "Pearly Gates."
Rest in peace, Papa.
Your daughter-in-law, Diane and grandchildren Danny and Sasha

Papa ... We will always cherish our memories of you and the
times we spent together. We know that you are at peace. Until we
meet again. We'll always love you grandfather.
Dicky, Quenby, Natasha and Donny
Papa... Grandfather's love was made of sharing, a happy home
that's filled with caring. It's made of planning and dreaming to-
gether, facing with courage life's stormiest weather. And nothing in
heaven or earth can part our grandfather's love that has grown in
our hearts.
Stetson, Codvillia and Baby Stet
May God who calls my dear Papa home and grants him peace
and rest, give me the strength and faith to say that He indeed knows
best.
Granddaughter Luciana
Rest in peace our beloved Grandfather. We love you and will
miss you. Rest on.
Bianca, Brandon, Brittany, Bradley
We will remember you forever. You were all a grandfather could
be and more. May you rest in peace.
Lil Perry
To Papa ... We will never forget the love you shared. You were
always concerned and you have always cared. You had a big heart
filled with lots of love for all and always had something to give us,
no matter how small. So now you have gone to take your rest; we
all question it but Jesus knows best Sleep on, dear Papa, while with
Jesus we walk hand in hand as we await our reunion in the blessed
promised land. Rest in peace, dear Grandfather. We love you.
Love always, Leayle and Je'Nelle

Papa ... May the God of peace and the God of Grace keep you
resting in His arms eternally. I called myself fortunate that I had the
privilege to be known as your daughter. I will always keep the
memories of you in my heart. You were like a father to me. Your
presence was clear. May God keep you near.
Love you, Ada Brooks

footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking
along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes
from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints
in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked
back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times
along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and sad-
dest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about
it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd
walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the
most troublesome times in life, there is only one set of foot-
prints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you
would leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you
and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and
suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then
that I carried you."
