MARCHING
IN LOVI G MEMIOR OF MR. JOSE KEAN, SR. 1 -BA
Since hiU organization o0 the Sebastien Maiching Band in August,
1975, Aft. Jose Kean touched the tives oA members o6 the band and majoette.,
tleadeu, and patenrta in a veAy 6peciat iwy.
At the aicwd ceAemony in Ap4it, 1976 held dutingq out Annaut Fe6tival
of Majoiettes and Bands, Mt. Jose Kean was pizeented a ptague o0t his vatu-
able contribution to the youth o6 the ViAqin Islands. It uas said o htim
at that time that hli uniting e6oitt and dedication made it possible Ao
a d'eam to come tAue 6o4 Seba.tien Majotette--..the organization o6 a
matching band.
To tlhU organization he was a leadeA, teacher, Kather, and fiend.
According to the acriptuRe (Epheaians 4:7, 11), "Each one o us haa
Received a special giAt in proportion to ihat Christ has given." "He
appointed some to be aposttes, others to be prophet6, others to be evange-
ti~t&, other to be pastou and teacheAr." Manif of uia never recognize or
use owt giftt6 or taentt, but M Jo&e Kean did. ThAough hi& mu&icat abiZity
lhe candied out tih tRue puqpoIe AOA which the gift was ivet'n; in leadeullip
he ministered to others through cwaing, and in teaching he gave freety of
hia ability, knowledge, and love.
O6 A~. Jose Kean it could never be said that he had no memorial; that
he perished as though he had not ived. (Ecctesiasticus 44:9) Hundred6s u
members o6 the Seba6tien MHaching Band, past and pteeent, many of whom ate
now membe, o6 othe reccognized bands, are Living memorial to the memory o6
AM. Jose Kean.
We believe that he wilt aea!fs be with ua in Apitit. When we perform
pooetii he witl have the same patience, and when we peAform at our best, he
will smite with approval. For hi6 ont request o6 us, aUoail6, uwa that we
do ouw best.
Mt. Kean owilt be greatty mi,6ed by members o6 Sebastien Band and
Majorettes, but out tei ed uas in knowing him, and our consolation is that
he. iei be amona those praiaing God in his hoty temple with eoud-ctanging
cymbals (P6alm 150).
Fo4 att that uiou gave, 6ot af.t nou ShaAed, test in peace, MA Kean,
and enjoy youth eteAnity ptlaing musical tuned in the presence of youA Lord.
