LILLIAN EIZAsETH JOSEPH was born in Bendals Village,
Antigua on April 10,1914 to Samuel and Sarah Joseph. She was
the sixth of seven children. She attended the Bendals School.
She was the mother of 4 children, 11 grandchildren 4 great
grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She moved to
St. Thomas to live with her daughter Salomie and has resided
here for twenty-five years.
Mama Lily, as she was affectionately called, was the most
caring person that ever lived. She left an indelible mark of love
on anyone who came in contact with her unselfish devotion and
loving ways. Her life was an inspiration to all by her generous
outpouring of advice and by her quiet strength. She always had
a word of encouragement for all.
Her most treasured possessions were her children and
grandchildren. She loved all children. She spent her life not
only looking after hers, but all children that God sent across her
path. She lived a life of service to others.
She loved to cook, she spent many hours cooking and
baking for her family. There was always something good to eat
in her kitchen.
Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior was the high
point of her life. From then on, her sole purpose was to edify
Christ and encourage everyone to accept his goodness and mercy.
Her life was a loving testimony of God's goodness. Even when
she was going through the valley of the shadow of death, she
never feared. Her lips were never stilled. She always drew a
word, a song from deep within her to praise God and to bless
family and friends alike.
Mama Lily, you have gone straight to the bosom of Jesus,
where you have spent most of your life. We are comforted
because we know that you have gone to a place where there is
no more pain or sorrow. We love you. You fought a good fight,
finished your course and kept the faith. God Bless You.

Mama Lili,
I will miss you dearly. You've always inspired me throughout my life.
God has taken you home to a happier place. I am blessed to have spoken
to you before your departure. You'll always be in my prayer. I thank you
for everything, and may God bless you
Ivan Williams, Jr.

Mama Lili,
You are one of the most loveable persons I've ever met. You are no
longer here in the flesh but, your spirit will live on. My expression of
sympathy cannot reflect my true pain. You will be missed dearly. You
had the heart of a lion and wisdom beyond reason. Our time shared
together will be a cherished memory. I thank you. God bless, Rest In
Peace.
Claudine Williams

Mama Lili, "Grandma",
I will always love you. You took care of me and you didn't have to.
You had the heart of a saint. Your passing was a shock to me, I will never
forget you. You've lived a full and complete life, now enjoy your rightful
place in God's kingdom. Grandma I love you!
Debra Williams

Mama Lili,
You watched me grow from a child to a man. You always kept me in
line. "Thanks"! You were an inspiration to all those around you. There is
no doubt in my mind that you are headed to the kingdom of heaven. I
will truly miss you. Your troubles are over, rest in peace, until we meet
again.
Andy "Lit Cakeo" Williams

Ma Li, as you were called by many of us, the Lord has called you home to
rest, but Shahim and I would never forget the days when you baby-sat
him when i had to work. We love you and we will always miss you. Sleep
on and take thy rest, until we meet around God's throne one day.
Farewell, Monique & Shahim

Ma Lily,
I miss you very much, you taught me and always loved to sing these
two songs with me, "Now the Day is Over, Night is Drawing Nigh"; and

"Tell Me the Story of Jesus I love to Hear". Everytime I sing these songs I
remember you. I love you Mama Lily, you were always a loving
grandmother to me, you always wanted me to read the Bible with you;
and you always cooked the things I liked. I wish you were still here telling
me to pull up my pants. I know that you have gone to heaven.
Ma Lily I love you
Your grandson, Huble

Mama Lily, I will surely miss you. I miss passing upstairs and saying
hello to you. I will miss all the advice you have always given me. You
made me laugh, you made me cry. I miss your waiting up for me everytime
I was out. I really miss the food you cooked for me. I remember how you
made us laugh with all your stories of long ago. I remember your advice,
all your kindness, your songs and your words about Jesus. Most of all I
remember your courage and your strength. I know you have gone home
to heaven.
Love, Michelle

Tribute to our beloved Mamma Lilly,
Words cannot express the deep feeling of sadness of your passing, but
one thing I can say that you are absent from the body, but right now you
are in the presence of the Lord. Lillian the songwriter said it so very well.
"But Lord, 'tis for Thee, for thy coming we wait. The sky, not the grave is
our goal. Oh trump of the Angel! Oh, voice of the Lord! Blessed hope
blessed rest of my soul!"
May God grant you eternal rest in that building that was made by
God. From, sister Celestine Tumbull, my entire family, Lucas, Arlene,
Martha, Alston, Andrea, Elaine, Cordel Jacobs and their four Boys
Love Sis. Turnbull

MaMa Lili,
Although I am deeply saddened for losing you, I am glad to know
that you have gone on to be with the Lord. I will miss you telling me to get
the Bible and read a scripture to you, and the long lecture that came behind
it. We will miss you dearly. Until we meet again, we love you.
Shelly, Winston, Brandlin

To A Wonderful Woman,
Eventhough I didn't get a chance to say goodbye, I know in my heart
that I'll see you again. I'll miss you and I love you so much!
Ryan

To Mama Lily,
We are going to miss you greatly, but we're comforted to know that
your with Jesus enjoying the peace that you so rightfully deserve. I will
never forget you or what you've taught me over the years. We love you.
Ronald, Joyce, Janon

I can identify with Timothy when Paul told him he was a product of
the spiritual investment of his grandmother Lily; because I know I am a
product of the spiritual investment you made in my life. The early morning
daily devotion, the lectures, and going to church was never an option for
us as children, we had to go. 0 death where is thy sting, oh grave where
is thy victory. Flesh and sin have lost its power over your life for blessed
in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. We have set a meeting
place, I'll be looking for you over there. What a joy to see you in your
incorruptible body. Glory to God forever more.
Angela

Mama Lily was the most loving person I have ever met. I give thank to
God for all the years he lent her to me. I thank God for the good times we
shared for her teaching me how to become a woman, how to wash, how to
cook; but most of all, I thank God for her most wonderful gift-her love.
Terry Bridges

Mama Lily,
We give thanks to God for all those precious years he has given you
to us. God has called you home to rest. Rest in peace.
Love always,
Rudy, Carlton, Carnal and Crystal

Mama Lily, you were the greatest grandmother anyone could have and I
love you very much. I know God and all of his angels are rejoicing because
there is a new angel in heaven. They welcome you with a wonderful song.
I will miss you very much.
Merissa

Ma! You are the greatest, I love you very much. I know you are with the
Lord and that gives me great peace and contentment to know that you
have fought the good fight and won the race.
Love, your son Joe

Ma Lily, God took you home before I could see you one last time. I will

surely miss you; I miss all our conversations, all your loving advice that
kept me strong all these years. You have accomplished your purpose, you
helped mold me to become the person I am today.
I love you,
Michael

Mama Lily, my heart is saddened to see you go. You were such a tower of
strength and compassion. I am sorry to see you go. But God wanted you
home. You have gone to a beautiful place where there is no more pain or
suffering.
Maurice

My heart is in deep sorrow by the passing of Mama Lilly. I will miss
her dearly especially when I would visit the house and she would refer to
me as "Uncle Raymond' or "Son" in order to engage me in conversation
mostly about the Lord. Your encouragement to trust in the Lord and accept
Jesus into my life will always be remembered. I was made to understand
that some of her last words were about how bright the lights are in the
room. It is my belief that Mama Lilly was experiencing the Light of the
World, that eternal brightness, Jesus Christ. According to John 8:12, Jesus
said, ''m the Light of the World and he that follows me will not walk in
darkness." We can all rest assured that Mama Lilly is walking in that light.
Raymond

Mama Lily, you were a mighty woman of God. I shall miss you. You
taught me from a little boy about God. I remember you waking us up at
5:00 in the morning to read the Bible and sing. I sang so loudly the
neighbors used to call me organ voice. I haven't forgotten all the times we
spent together walkinghome and talking about Jesus. I know I have caused
you pain but my life has now been changed. You have lived your life as a
Saint and I know you are living in a mansion with Jesus.
Love Roy

SIsa. 43:4 Since thou wast, precious in my sight, thou hast been honorable
and I have loved thee. Mommie thank you for the abundant riches of
God's grace and mercy that you have bestowed upon us.You were truly a
woman loved and honored by the Lord. Mommie as I watched you go
through the valley of death and feared no evil because you knew Christ
was with you. That made me strong because you finished strong.
Thank you, Cynthia

Mama Lili,
It saddens my heart to know that you are no longer with us. However,
your pain and suffering are over and you are in eternalpeace with God. I
will hold my memories of you in my heart forever.
You will always be remembered. Rest in peace, until we meet again.
Keturah Symster Richards & Family
