Abstract: The Enid M. Baa Library of the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums (DLAM) has acquired an extensive collection of memorial booklets since the early 1970's for U. S. Virgin Islands residents. Booklets are usually more than 10 pages long and give details of the life and family connections of the deceased.

Dear Mr. Humphrey:

On behalf of the staff of the Office of the
Lieutenant Governor, I wish to express my profound
sympathy to you and your family on the death of
your wife, Janet.

Her death signals the conclusion of a relation-
ship with this office that began more than two decades
ago. During that period, she exhibited an exemplary
record of service and dedication to this government
and the people of this territory that your family
can take great pride in.

Though there is a sense of sadness among her
co-workers today, we are deeply grateful for the
many years she spent here among us and for the
many friendships she established along the way.
