Alvara Idalia Waters was born in Virgin Gorda to
Rudeman Waters and Rosalia Francis Waters, and was
one of seven siblings.
At an early age she left Virgin Gorda to reside for a
short time in St. Thomas, then moved on to Puerto Rico
where she worked for several years before returning to
St. Thomas.
On. Jan. 14, 1942 she married her devoted, loving
husband, George Hendricks. They resided in New York
City for twenty-five years and then moved back to St.
Thomas in 1974.
After his wife became ill, George took loving care of
her until her passing.
Idalia was a member of All Saints Women and Episco-
pal Church Women. She served as a Foster Grandparent,
and could be heard on the old Sam King radio show
reading poetry.
On December 18, 1996, she passed on peacefully at
home, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving
family. We know she will rest in peace because she
found her "Victory in Jesus" her Lord and Savior.

AT THE GRAVESIDE ... THE COMMITTAL

Dear Sweet, Loving Wife, we had 54 wonderful years together and we
will continue our journey when we meet at our Savior's feet. God take care
of you until then.
Your loving husband, George

Dear Mita... We will say God bless till we met again for I know it is to
come. We can see us now walking through the land of crystal seas and
hanging gardens, sitting at our Savior's feet. Your loving children, Alice
and Henry Dear Aunt Idalia, I shall miss our talks on the telephone. God
knows best and you have earned your rest!
Your Niece, Delita and family

Farewell to my Mother-in-Law ... I have known you for over thirty-
four years and thank you for the many good years you gave to my wife and
1. I know that your presence will be sorely missed by all who knew you. So
abruptly you were taken from us. For you I rejoice and am happy. There is
no doubt as to where you are. You are with our Lord at last in his
Heavenly Kingdom. You have gained your victory in Jesus. Rest in peace,
dear lady.
Your son-in-law, John T. Williams

Dear Sister, Aunt... We will miss you very much and remember the
precious memories. We have indeed been privileged to partake of your
warmth, your smile. Even though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice that you
no longer have to endure your illness. Victory in Jesus is yours at last!
Sister, Brother, Waters, Penn, Hill families
