Abstract: The Enid M. Baa Library of the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums (DLAM) has acquired an extensive collection of memorial booklets since the early 1970's for U. S. Virgin Islands residents. Booklets are usually more than 10 pages long and give details of the life and family connections of the deceased.

Anthony George was born September 8, 1920 to Agusters George
and Tena Martin of lost Van Dyke, BVI. He grew up in lost Van Dyke
where he also attended school. After completion of school he worked
as a fisherman, as did his father before him. Anthony married Carmellta
Industrious of Tortola in 1968. In 1969, they moved to St. Thomas
where he worked for the V.I. Government until he retired as a messenger.
His strength began to fail him for the past two years until the time of
his death at the Roy L. Schneider Hospital on December 28, 1996.
He was a very quiet and humble man. He loved people and tried to
help anyone he came in contact with. He was a member of Church of
God of Prophecy. May he rest in peace.
