LOUIS J
JOSEPH '
THEODORE
BOSCHULTE
1890-1979 '
Louis Joseph Theodore Boschulte was born on St. Thomas,
Virgin Islands on December 18, 1890, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
J.H. Boschulte. His childhood was spent at Estates Altona and
John Dunkoe.
Educated at the Convent School which was located in the
area where the Department of Education is now housed, he
furthered his knowledge through private tutors and assisting his
father in managing several estates. "Mister T," as he was
affectionately known, resided at Estate Solberg during his adult
life. The road that runs through this estate is called The Theo-
dore Boschulte Drive, an honor bestowed on him by the 10th
Legislature in recognition of his many civic contributions to the
community.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Sylvanie Simeon Boschulte;
twelve children, Alfred, Alice Stephens, Lionel, Anthony,
Louis, James, Ellen, Emile, Randolph, Christian, Evelyn and
Bernard; nieces Bertha Boschulte and Gladys Newton; nephews
Jack Monsanto, Emile and Ernest Boschulte, and many other
relatives residing on and off island.
Like his father before him he was a gentleman and a prom-
inent citizen. He was a member of the Colonial Council from
1928 1932, serving with Councilmen Kuntz, Roberts, Peter-
sen, Corneiro, Knud Hansen, Nolte, DeChabert, Canegata,
Anduze, Lockhart, Smith and D. Hamilton Jackson. In 1974
he was honored by the Tenth Legislature of the Virgin Islands
for his civic and community activities and his unselfish con-
tributions to the community.
Mr. Boschulte's accomplishments were many. He believed
that nothing came easy and that one must labor and toil to
achieve his goals. He saw to it that all of his children were
educated. He loved animals and people. He never made hasty
decisions, but his handshake was as good as a signed contract.
He taught by example and will be remembered for his friend-
liness.
We must accept the will of God. Pappy lived a long and
fruitful life for which we thank God. Our comfort is in that
he accomplished his mission and has gone on to a greater place
prepared for him with God in his heavenly kingdom.
May the Lord grant us the strength to continue life in
peace and love.
MAY HE REST IN PEACE
