Oh July 3, 1942, Algernon and Amanda Blyden had a son,
Roy Lawrence "Larry" Blyden on the island of St. Thomas.
Larry attended Mrs. Lucinda Millin Elementary School and
Charlotte Amalie High School.
Oanrry went into the Air Force and served four years. He
returned to St. Thomas where he made a career with the
Government of the Virgin Islands. He worked with the
Department of Labor for thirty-two (32) years until he retired
on May 26, 2000.
arry departed this life on Sunday, February 11, 2001,
6:30 a.m. at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital.
anry leaves to cherish his memories his father, Algernon
Blyden; a son, Christian; two (2) brothers, Melvin & Calvin
Blyden of Chicago IL; two sisters, Eleanor Blyden of Glendale
Heights, IL & Janet Gerut of Lombard. IL; one aunt, Mrs.
Adina Lettsome; uncle, Edward Lettsome; one (1) brother-in-
law, Charles Gerut of Lombard, IL; one (1) sister-in-law,
Barbara Blyden of Chicago, IL; several nieces and nephews,
great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and friends.
