EDITH MILDRED BEALE was bom on Marc-h 28,
1915, the fifth of seven children, to ALEXANDER and
BATHIA BEALE.

In 1954, she emigrated to and established her home in
St. Thomas, where she was well known for her quiet and
reserved nature. Edith proved an enterprising business-
woman and single-handedly owned and operated a grocery
store, which provided a valuable community service to the
residents of the Garden Street area.

In July, 1981, her health began to fail and in March,
1983, she fell victim to a stroke. IEith Mildred Beale,
beloved sister, devoted aunt and faithful friend, passed
away in the evening of August 18, 1985. Edith has
reached her journey's end.
