Abstract: The Enid M. Baa Library of the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums (DLAM) has acquired an extensive collection of memorial booklets since the early 1970's for U. S. Virgin Islands residents. Booklets are usually more than 10 pages long and give details of the life and family connections of the deceased.

ELLA JOSEPH ADAMS wa born on January 11,
1892 to Julius and Earnestine Joseph on St.
Thomas. Virgin Islands. She became the wife of
Alton A. Adams, Sr. on October 6. 1917 and bore
him eight children. Three preceded her in death
(Merle. Hazel and Eleanor). She is survived by her
husband. Alton A. Adams, Sr.; two sisters. Mrs.
Grace Sparks and Mrs. Blanche Sasso; five child-
ren. Gwendolyn Adams. Enid Questel, Olive
Finch, Althea Adams and Alton Adams, Jr.;
twenty grandchildren and seventeen great grand
children.
