Antilleans, B'dians at Carifesta

T!" SIave Dance" by the Antillean Folk Group of Curacao vividly portrays the ea
when European ships landed in the New World, during the early part of the last eM -
t'ry, with their human cargo from Africa. This picture shows the group, scatily

THE modern Barbados Dance Theatre were on stage at the Cultural Centre or. TIarsd a
night and offered two pieces from their 1973 season repertoire. Here, in cbtiin as stri-
kingly modern as their choreography, the dancers perform "Islands," a dae ~mter-
pretation of poems by Edward Braitiwaite with choreography by the ompais6 rtXi-
tie Director, Virginia Seeley.
