It was a

fine day

for tramping

THERE was an exiaenance
of .raiety, colour and sciintil-
lating steel band music in the
streets of Georgetown yester-
day when hundreds of cos-
tumed trampers, participat-
ing in the David Lanny Cari-
festa Wresentation went on a
five-hour trek. The trampers
were organized into three
,groups depicting certain cul-
tural and historical aspects
of South America and the
Commonwealth Caribbean.
The trampers, who danced
In wild abandon to the pan
music of the Alaontic Sym-
honyv Steel Orchestra
brought hundreds of people
out of their .homes to watch
the colourful spectacle and
even to join in the tramp.
