And do not thind that a

not started to make things
and beautiful things at
that!
For example there is
Mr. Joseph Croker, one
brilliant comrade from East
La Penitence, who spends
his evenings painting the
Carifesta symbol on white
jerseys.
His work was praised
for its high quality by
members of the CadfPit r
Secretariat when he took
samples for their scrutiny.
And there are many

There are many things

light-weight things are

Youths in co-operative
groups are working hard to
cash in on the;
CARIFESTA souvenir
market. At this very
moment 25 youths of
Uitvlugt, West Coast
Demerara are producing
bed sheets, pillow cases,
table cloths, handkerchiefs
and other household items
for exhibition and sale
during the three-week
cultural festival.

In fact, for the youths,
the selling of souvenirs will
even enable them to have
extra pocket money with
which they can buy tickets
for extra CARIFESTA
shows.
To the people of these
31 countries including
Guyana, Carifesta means a
great deal; it is to be
educational, inspirational,
and entertaining; but to
the comrades in our midst
right here in Guyana it
also means what the
pavement vendor said -
"money."
