THE $20,000 Ibach con-
cert Grand Piano donated
by the Federal Republic of
Germany to the Cultural
Centre Gift Fund has ar-
rived in the country and
arrangements for its offi-
cial handing over are now
being made.
THE cultural history of
St. KiV's-Nevis-Anguilla is to
|be dramatically presented
during CARIFESTA. Start-
ing with the coming of the
Europeans and the destruc-
tion of the indigenous Carib
Indians the presentation
will bring to life the Lia-
nuiga (Barbe) Legend of
these famous indigenous
peoples.
The last part of the play
will treat the coming of the
African slaves .. .their role
in forging a new society in
addition to the present cul-
tural landscape of St. Kitts-
Nevis-Anguilla.
A NUMBER of attractive-
ly decorated CARIFESTA
Booths to be run by the pri-
vate sector will display and
self locally produced CARI-
FESTA souvenirs during the
three-week cultural festival.
The booths are to be lo-
cated at the premises of a
number of firms including
Geddes Grant Ltd., Bookers,
Psaila Bros. J. P. Santos,
Kissoon's CARIFESTA Store,
Fogarty's and Harlequin.
The banks, including Guy-
lana National Co-operative,
Barclays. Chase Manhattan
and Royal, will also have
specially decorated booths.,
