local writers
PROFESSOR Ubaldo Be-
zeana Neto, Cultural Attache
to the Brazilian Embassy in
Georgetown will speak on
"Contemporary Trends and
Themes in Brazilian Litera-
ture" when he meets local
writers on Thursday 6.30 p.m
at the National History and
Arts Council.
Professor Neto's lecture is
the third in a series dealing
with the scope and content of
literature in the Caribbean
and Latin America. The object
of the series is to make Guy-
anese writers and others inter-
ested in literature more ac-
quainted with current trends
in the churntreso taking part
in CARIFESTA.
