'Festival City' will now have 250 houses

THE ainiaure 'festival
city' being planned by the
organizers of the Caribbean
Festival of Creative Arts
will now comprise some 250
houses in the North Ruim-
veld area.
The Graphic was informed
yesterday that originally, it
was intended to have ,100.
houses built to accommodate
the special guests coming

from overseas for Carifesta.
But this was increased to.
150.
However, as the organizers
discovered that they might
still be faced with an accom-
modation problem, they de-
cided to .enter into an ar-
rangement with self-help:
groups which are engaged
in housing construction in
the North Ruimveld area.

These groups of self.
helpers are now expected
to make available to the
Carifesta organizers some
100 houses on an arrange.
ment still to be finalized.
After Carifesta, the 150
houses being built by the
Government to aomnmodate
foreign guests, will be of-
fered for sale.
