Masquerade dancers

coming from St Kitts


ST. Kitts, -Nevis, Anguilla
Minister of Education,
Health and Social Services,
Mr. Fitzroy Bryant on Tues-
day evening held talks with
Minister of Information and
Culture Mr. Elvin2 MoDavid
and Carifesta Director, Miss
Lynnette Dolphin about his
country's participation in
the three-week Festival
which will be held in
Georgetown from August 25
Septaeder 15.
Mr, Byrint who arrived
in the country earlier in the
day and left yesterday morn-
ing disclosed that the talks
were very fruitful and his-
country looked forward to
participating in the Festival
He also announced that
his country would be send-
ing a group of masquerade
dancers called "umzmnies'm
in 'n historical getting andf
another group of masquerad-
ers who will be performing
acrobatics.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of
New Amsterdam Mr. Errol
Alphonso and representa-
tives of social and other
organizations in New Am-
sterdam are to put 'up pro-
posals for their involvement
in Carifesta.
At a meeting held on
Monday, June 26, with the
Secretary of the. National
History and Arts Council,
Mr. Basil de Rushe, who is
the Carifesta Co-ordinator
for the rural programme.


the organizations pledged
their support for the Carib-
bean Festival of Creative
Arts.
The meeting was held at
the New Amsterdam Town
Hall.
Today Mr. de Rushe will
meet the chairman and
Councillors of the Central
Mahaicony District Council
to discuss Carifesta and
their involvemeftt.
