'Carifesia' second

stage under way
The second stage of "Operation
Carifesta '72" has begun, with
teams of Carifesta workers visitf
ing schools in the past week ei
plaining what Carifesta is all
about.
Carifesta Director Mis-' Lynett
Dolphin has noted that according
to the plan devised two yeat~

Caribbean Festival of Creative
Arts, the first' stage' of the oper-
ations was to visit all the
countries invited to participate,
to hold discussions' with: the
relevant authorities and find out
what each country would con-
tribute.
"Only in this wayj' Miss Dol-
phin said, "could we set about'
planning a programme in gooj
time. This stage of the plan is al-
most complete.'-
Miss Dolphin, who is chairman
of the Carifesta Central Planning
Coinmmittee, disclosed that at the
Co6mnittee's first meeting for
this month, it was decided that.

everybody will be involved.

hearsals for the Guyana partici-
bation in Carifestf.
In this Festival, musicians,
composes,' darib~i, actors, poets
and othi6' writers, artists and
sculptors and other creative
people from 25 countries of th~
Caribbban and South America
will be meeting in Guyana and
displaying their artistic achicvo-
ments for the educational enter-
tainment of all.
Preparations for specific phas.
of Festival Activity are now in
hand.

which will be responsible for the
reception, accommodatinn and
general welfare of their official
guests, started work last weeli

Today, the Transportation Com-
mittee is holding its first meeting
