Abstract: From the looks of this story, it highlights the successes and failures of the first CARIFESTA in Guyana. Given that Jamaica is about to be the Festival's host in 1976, this is probably an object lesson on what and what not to do and/or expect in the midst of planning for their version. The photo is of a female Cuban vocalist whose name is also illegible.
General Note: Clipping from July 23, 1976, p. XII, XXII. Illegible.
Funding: Support for the development of the technical infrastructure and partner training provided by the United States Department of Education TICFIA program.
