Abstract: As a result of a pan-Caribbean logo competition for CARIFESTA '72, the judges from Guyana's History and Arts Council award the CARIFESTA '72 logo prize to Billy Ryan Enterprises, Ltd., a Guyanese-owned and operated advertising and public relations firm in Antigua. The winning logo shows a hand grasping sunlight, symbolizing and honoring the deft and inspired skill of artists in all fields of endeavor across the Caribbean and Latin America, and acknowledging their place in history.
