Abstract: |
Advance description of the Caribbean Festival of Creative Arts, or "CARIFESTA '72," inspired by then Prime Minister Burnham's original vision. It is his hope to to bring the whole region together through pride and enthusiasm inspired by the arts, and improve the financial and moral support for Caribbean and Latin American artists through the exposure of the Festival. The article mentions several other efforts to bring the event to fruition, including the establishment of a special CARIFESTA Secretariat at the National History and Arts Council. |
