 Notes
Abstract: Report on ceremonies for the CARIFESTA '72 "Festival City" opening celebration. Festival City has been created initially for the original Caribbean Festival of Arts held in Guyana, an event both West Indian and Latin American in scope. This city within a city is also hoped to endure as a cultural center within Georgetown and to rival the city proper for its beauty and cultural impact. Included is a photo of Carifesta's initiator, President Arthur Chung, and other dignitaries.
Funding: Support for the development of the technical infrastructure and partner training provided by the United States Department of Education TICFIA program.
