grew out of one of the stories in "Pataki Full". The idea of that play was suggested by Steve Duncan who wanted something to dramatize Christmas for a youth group at St Luke Methodist Church to stage.
The story in "Pataki Full" was too short for a full-length play so I decided to incorporate the Genesis account of the Creation and Fall of mankind but (as Europe did in the Middle Ages) bringing the events to life by making it contemporary and local.
Not only Belizeans have been satisfied with the result. The charge d' affaires of the Brazilian Embassy in Belize was impressed, being particularly intrigued by the insight that make John the Baptist a Rastafarian. "Sir Colville," he told me, That's exactly what he was, with his vegetarian diet of locust and wild honey!"
I thank Beverly Swasey and her drama group for bringing my play to life again on the stage.
