I started with a womens kicken-US -en-US boxing class and sort of fell into it more and en-US more and they asked me if I wanted to do en-US my first fight.en-US I kept doing it more and more, and I was en-US like, why not? My whole life, I always volunen-US -en-US teered with the Humane Society and worked en-US with animals, and I was always the quiet kid, en-US so its completely out of character for me to en-US want to fight.en-US Ms. Robertson, 22, fought her first mixed en-US martial arts bout once she turned 18 and en-US had numerous local fights in that division en-US before turning professional in March of en-US 2016. Although she never was involved in en-US athletics at Westwood, she had five profesen-US -en-US sional fights and did very well before en-US attempting to join The Ultimate Fighter en-US division and is looking for another fight in en-US that class in the near future.en-US Its just been a great journey and I love en-US the sport more than anything else, Ms. en-US Robertson said. But Ive never been in a en-US street fight and this is completely not me, en-US but I just love the technique of it so much en-US and I feel like once I started doing I just fell en-US in love with it.en-US Ms. Robertson trains with Din Thomas, en-US another Port St. Lucie native who competes en-US in The Ultimate Fighter and he serves as her en-US main coach in the sport. She also trains with en-US Anthony Esposito, who runs American Top en-US Team Treasure Coast in Stuart. en-US She also credits her parents David and en-US Julie Robertson with encouraging her en-US along the way and supporting her new en-US endeavor and adventure. In the beginning, en-US they didnt get it as much. They were always en-US supportive, but it was hard to go in there en-US and watch their daughter get punched in the en-US face.en-US That said, Mr. Robertson said he will en-US always stand behind his daughters decision.en-US It will be tough to watch, but shes really en-US good at what she does and deserves all her en-US success, Mr. Robertson. We en-US do hope this visit will move some students to en-US want to work in manufacturing or attend a en-US vocational training class to learn a skill.en-US Advanced Machine & Tool owner Jerry en-US Jacques said he and his staff emphasized the en-US firms need to have candidates skilled in math en-US and able to read blue prints. en-US We are very excited to have an opportunien-US -en-US ty to work with the school departments in en-US the area and show them career opportunities en-US their students could possibly excel [in], he en-US said. We discussed, educational needs of en-US prospective employees, work hours and pay en-US ranges from new hires with little experience en-US to 10-plus years of experience.en-US Mr. Jacques said the primary goal of the en-US partnership between the school district, the en-US EDC and the TCMA was to provide a pool of en-US workforce talent in the future for local busien-US -en-US nesses. en-US The main goal is to create an employee en-US training program that will educate students en-US so their interest and availability can be utien-US -en-US lized by the industry within the Treasure en-US Coast, he said. I often hear.en-US en-US The assumption people make is, if they get en-US a machine with enough horsepower, RAM en-US and hard drive space that it ought to do en-US anything they need it to and, to a degree en-US that is true. But the one thing thats missing en-US is the software (or program) to do the job.en-US Programs that are installed after the en-US operating system is installed (Windows in en-US this article) enhance the system and allow en-US the computer to run at its full potential. en-US What programs we need installed depends en-US on the files that we are trying to open and en-US work with.en-US Many of the files that we work with on en-US the Internet, such as jpg, html and txt files en-US all will open with the built in Windows en-US applications (called apps or programs en-US interchangeably) but other files, such as xls, en-US doc, docx, pdf etc. need programs that en-US specifically handle those kinds of files. The en-US three-letter extension is what identifies to en-US the computer what kind of file it is, what en-US icon to display for it and what program to en-US use to open it. en-US If the program that is required to open a en-US file is not installed on the machine, then the en-US file will be displayed with a generic en-US Windows icon. When you try to open it, en-US the computer will open a screen listing en-US some of the installed applications asking en-US what program you want to use to open it. en-US The computer takes a look at the file, en-US doesnt recognize it so it lists all the en-US programs installed and lets you pick what en-US program to open it with because it doesnt en-US have a clue.en-US Unfortunately, when we see that program en-US list, usually we dont have a clue what to en-US open it with either, for the same reason the en-US computer got stumped: there is no program en-US installed for that type of file.en-US So, that brings us back to the beginning en-US with the question of what programs does a en-US typical computer need installed, on top of en-US Windows, in order to be able to handle en-US most of the file formats that everyone else en-US in the world is using?en-US Why is it that some model machine can en-US already handle certain files and some en-US machines (same model) cannot? And, when en-US you buy a computer, what should you look en-US for as far as bundled software goes? en-US Lets take the last question first and talk en-US about bundled software. Some computer en-US manufacturers have made deals with en-US software vendors to bundle their software en-US with every computer they sell. They, of en-US course, get some sort of commission for en-US including the software in with the price of en-US the machine and, often, its the bundling en-US agreement that has brought the price of the en-US computer so low, but where things get en-US tricky is every computer manufacturer has a en-US different bundling agreement (or even none en-US at all) so every computer comes with en-US different software loaded on top of en-US Windows. en-US What that means is one computer bought en-US from one manufacturer will usually have en-US different software installed than what may en-US be installed in another computer of the en-US same hardware specs (horsepower) from en-US another manufacturer. (Whew. Say that one en-US three times fast!) en-US OK, so youve decided to get a new en-US computer. What bundled software should en-US you look for (above and beyond Windows) en-US that will allow you to do some of the more en-US common tasks without getting the dreaded en-US unknown file type message? en-US Well, the most common bundle that en-US ought to be installed is some level of office en-US suite. An office suite, (such as MS Office, or en-US Open Office), is a package of software to en-US handle Word processing, spreadsheets, en-US databases, etc.; a must-have for productivity en-US or if you want to open the common file en-US types like .doc and .xls. en-US For things such as .pdf files (Adobe en-US portable document format) the Acrobat en-US reader can be installed. Adobe Reader and en-US Open Office are free and can sometimes be en-US found bundled with other software or easily en-US downloaded from the Internet. en-US But that is the subject of another column en-US altogether.en-US Sean McCarthy fixes computers.
