We are talking about en-US a highly regulated industry here.en-US After hearing from the three experts, en-US Commissioner Perona admitted he was en-US ready to support medical marijuana disen-US -en-US pensaries in the city.en-US This is large, and hopefully the other en-US commissioners can see what happened en-US tonight and take that in as we deliberate en-US and make that decision for Fort Pierce, he en-US said. This is bigger than just little dispenen-US-en-US saries happening all over the place. We en-US have defined the number of dispensaries, en-US weve have defined the product, weve en-US defined the process in which somebody en-US gets the product. It seems to be that theres en-US a lot of regulation and a lot of good that en-US can come from this.en-US The meeting began with a presentation en-US by Fort Pierce native Dr. Jessica McCain, a en-US primary care provider at Whole Family en-US Health Center and a co-founder of Southen-US-en-US ern Comfort Medical Clinic dedicated to en-US the treatment of patients with medical en-US cannabis. Dr. McCain detailed the strict en-US certification process required to qualify en-US patients for medical cannabis.en-US The state had outlined a number of en-US conditions that they felt that science supen-US -en-US ported, she said. I dont certify everyen-US -en-US body thats achy. This is not a primary en-US experimental medication theyre using: en-US Theyve tried other options previously. en-US They really truly have to show that they en-US have exhausted all medical options or at en-US least been counseled on them and that en-US theyre truly debilitated by definition.en-US In addition, Dr. McCain said the state of en-US Florida, the Department of Health and en-US other institutions provide exhaustive overen-US -en-US sight of the process.en-US I am verifying patients have Florida en-US residency and I spend more than an hour en-US educating them about the science and this en-US whole process, she said. en-US Kimberly Hawkes, the community maren-US -en-US keting manager of Surterra Wellness en-US Holdings, also provided an overview of en-US the companys medical marijuana dispenen-US-en-US saries that she referred to as Wellness en-US Centers. The state of Florida awarded the en-US firm one of the first five dispensary licensen-US -en-US ees in the state. Ms. Hawkes said Surterra en-US purposely avoids the negative connotaen-US-en-US tions of the marijuana image and has en-US given its wellness centers the appearance en-US of a cozy inviting kitchen.en-US We want folks to feel comfortable: A en-US lot of folks are cannabis nave, and theyve en-US never really been exposed to it, she said as en-US she presented images of the companys en-US Tampa facility. This is not something that en-US we want to intimidate folks with. All walks en-US of life come through our doors.en-US Richard Senate of Fort Pierce said he en-US hoped the city would ultimately approve en-US the dispensaries in order to break away en-US from failing Prohibition-era tactics.en-US I voted in favor of this new law as a step en-US away from prohibition, of not just marien-US-en-US juana but the entire drug prohibition, he en-US said. I wish that my friend Commissioner en-US [Rufus] Alexander was here and hope he en-US will listen to what has been presented en-US tonight and be equally informed.en-US Commissioner Alexander and Comen-US -en-US missioner Reginald Sessions failed to en-US respond to email inquiries by press time, en-US but both have previously stated they would en-US prefer to ban dispensaries rather than see en-US them placed in lower-income neighboren-US -en-US hoods. Michael Patterson, the CEO of en-US Melbourne-based U.S. Cannabis Pharmaen-US-en-US ceutical Research and Development, also en-US spoke during the public comment period en-US and attempted to alleviate those kinds of en-US fears.en-US One of the biggest factors in choosing a en-US location for a dispensary is the immediate en-US income of the population surrounding the en-US potential location, he said. Locations en-US that are surrounded by populations of a en-US higher median income generate five to six en-US times more revenue than a store location en-US with a surrounding population with a en-US lower median income. Medical marijuana en-US companies in Florida and elsewhere en-US already know this and look to put their en-US locations in high median income areas en-US when possible.en-USMarijuanaen-USFrom page 1

We are extremely grateen-US -en-US ful to the dedicated team who cared for our en-US mother on a daily basis. We know from en-US firsthand experience that our mother was en-US cared for and devotion was shown by everyen-US -en-US one. All of the staff made such a difference en-US to her quality of life. No matter who was on en-US duty regardless of time, day or night, we en-US know she received the same high quality of en-US care and for this we are forever thankful. We en-US observed the professionalism and total deden-US -en-US ication of each and every member of the en-US team and how well our mother was treated en-US with love and respect. Betty called Grace en-US home and felt the love and respect from all en-US of her caregivers. She loved and cared for en-US the people there and considered them famien-US -en-US ly. We will never forget the attentive support en-US given to our mother and it will forever be in en-US our hearts.en-US With heartfelt thanks,en-US Karen Crittenden and Cathy Channon en-US and the Betty Dalton family.en-USThis has sent me over the edgeen-USI consider myself anti-political but when I en-US hear an idea I like, I have no compulsion en-US about not sharing it. My golf buddy inferred en-US that at the end of the year, all senators, conen-US -en-US gressmen, anyone to hold public office en-US would lose the healthcare they now receive, en-US and be covered by whatever healthcare plan en-US is offered by the government. They can still en-US choose to pay for their own insurance plan en-US out of their own pockets, but they would be en-US forced to use the plan they decided was best en-US for our country. Maybe that would motivate en-US them to work together and come up with en-US the best plan for the country. The President en-US can sign an executive order to make this en-US happen. Does anyone else like this idea?en-USEffective leaders?en-USDoes Sebastian have effective leaders in en-US office? The city has serious drainage proben-US -en-US lems and no citywide sewer hookups. God en-US help us if we have a storm that resembles en-US Hurricane Harvey. The entire city will be en-US underwater and raw sewage will be floating en-US everywhere. The time to make improveen-US -en-US ments is now, before millions of property en-US damage occurs. Time for our city officials to en-US show results instead of offering excuses. The en-US welfare of Sebastian rests on their shoulders.en-USAbout Vero Beach HS footballen-USThe 2017 Vero Beach Fighting Indians en-US football team is a talented team. They will en-US win many games. However, these are not en-US our boys. Many of the players in key posien-US -en-US tions are there either because they are a en-US coachs son or they have transferred in to en-US play football. And this starts right at the en-US top. en-US These are not kids that we watched en-US mature and hone their skills in IRC Rec en-US league. These are not the players who have en-US earned their spot through excelling on the en-US Freshmen and JV teams over the years. en-US These are kids that have no history in this en-US community. They have no ties to this comen-US -en-US munity in the future. They will play and en-US leave back to Port St. Lucie, Ft. Pierce, and en-US Sebastian when the year is over. Many of en-US our 3 year players have hung up their cleats en-US this year because of the nepotism and favoren-US -en-US itism shown with this teams leadership. en-US And dont dare question the system. IF you en-US do your son will be forced off the team one en-US way or another. I could give you several en-US examples of this. I still have a kid in the athen-US -en-US letics system so for his sake I keep quiet for en-US now. So if you attend these games be advised en-US these are not the players of old who grew up en-US here, schooled here, and let the hardest en-US working, best man play kids. These are the en-US ones who transferred in to get the best en-US opportunity for themselves and these are en-US the ones lucky enough to have a daddy en-US coaching. There are still a few who are 4 en-US year players who have earned their spot and en-US not had a Johnny Come Lately come take his en-US spot. I root for those guys. I mourn for the en-US other players who got an opportunity en-US unjustly taken from them.en-USWhen will people wake up?en-USYou dont hear people blaming Global en-US Warming caused by our pollution for The en-US Texas disaster. Each disaster sets a new en-US record. They will become more devastating, en-US more frequent, and more powerful. Humans en-US have no defense against the power of Nature. en-US We go into denial of our constant increase en-US of pollution and the Oceans temperatures en-US grow hotter and hotter. The pollution is en-US trapped in our Atmosphere, which is relaen-US -en-US tively thin. People see others lose everything en-US and suffer from our abuse of our technoloen-US -en-US gy by increasing pollution. They must realen-US en-USize that what happened in Texas can happen en-US anywhere and to anyone. I guess they think en-US we will recover and it will never happen en-US again? Wont we run out of donations? en-US There is no limit on the number of Storms, en-US Hurricanes, floods, fires, Tornadoes, en-US Droughts, and power of Nature. We just en-US watch TV and the news about all of the en-US disasters around the World and do away en-US with Environmental protections. If Scientist en-US warn us we just call them crazy and blame en-US the Chinese who are worse then us when it en-US comes to pollution, and then we go about en-US our number one concern which is getting en-US more MONEY. The interesting thing about en-US money is that in the end caused by Global en-US Warming money will be of no use. We can en-US just sit on our roof top clutching our Debit en-US cards and wish we had a bottle of cool water, en-US a candy bar and dream about if we had only en-US stopped polluting our Atmosphere years ago en-US we might not be looking for FEMA to come en-US drifting by with no where else to take us. en-US Our hearts dropped at the image of those en-US poor elderly souls sitting in waste high water en-US in a Nursing Home. Im sure people will en-US think this writer is crazy. No; Maybe just a en-US realist. Mother Nature can be very unforgiven-US -en-US ing for sure.
