Im active duty and have fitness standards to meet for my job. How am I supposed to do this when the weights are secured except for two days on the weekend? RESPONSE: Thank you for your feedback regarding our tness programing. The Fleet Rec Gym has several areas with free weights available Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka @cfay_pao @CFAY_Japan yokosukareport@ gmail.comfor use. The heavy-duty powerlifting free weights in the 5th Floor rear area functional tness room, in front of racquetball courts, are currently secured from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday Friday, because of the disturbance caused by their misuse. The Fleet Rec building was designed to be a mixed-use facility that also provides educational classrooms and oces for health care support services and they cannot eectively provide these services in Receive My CFAY Weekly by email! I.C.E. COMMENT Replace Steam Piping: Partial road and parking closure on Fechteler Road (day work) and partial road closure on Rickert Drive (night work) until Nov. 7. Fleet Recreation Food Court Renovation: Closed until Sept. 1. NEX Parking Lot Repaving: Until Nov. 8, phased closures of the NEX parking lots will take place for new paving and painting of the lots. Building C21, Command Hill: Parking on Command Hill will be reduced during the demolition and reconstruction of Building C21 until March 2019. TPU Building Renovation: Until April 2019, parking will be unavailable. Bldg. J200 (Navy Lodge): Paint work to commence July 30 and continue through Oct. 6. Some parking and access to the building may be aected temporarily during scaolding work. Fri. 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sat. 8:30 a.m to 4 p.m. a disruptive environment. Many attempts were made to abate the disturbances, including marking each weight with do not drop, but the preventative measures were unsuccessful. The functional tness room was setup on a trial basis, in the 5th Floor rear area, to explore the capabilities of current facilities and expand the tness oerings to the community. However, the original building design never intended this space to be a free weight area and as it stands, it does not meet the noise abating requirements for the type of exercise being performed there. In the meantime, Fleet Rec has deadlift stands and free weights available on the 4th oor. Moreover, the Purdy Gym has extensive free weights and dedicated areas to meet the tness needs of the Yokosuka community.SURE START APPLICATION DEADLINE Applications for Sure Start, a no cost preschool program, are due no later than Aug. 23 to Sullivans or Ikego elementary schools.
