The theme of this years exhibit was the 75th An niversary of the Panama Canal Society. Trustee Jim DesLondes, left, writes his name on the map of Cardenas where he used to live, while a friend points to the street where he lived in Los Rios. Visitors to the museum room could choose homes in the Canal Zone. Peggy Hale Huff presented Bunco champ, Emily Bliss Rockledge, FL, with her prizes. Peggy and Renee Cat Ballou Krimminger hosted the Bunco Tournament at the Reunion as a museum fundraiser. The tournament introduced participants to the fun of Bunco as a fundraiser so that well be able to have Bunco tournaments staged across the country. To learn more about how to sponsor a Bunco party, contact Kathy Egolf at pankee@aol.com (727-394BUNCO! facts, a DVD, a PowerPoint program, and lots of activities about the Panama Canal and Panama that teachers can use in the classroom. An individual, business or group (i.e. BHS Class of 19__) can choose to sponsor one of the Trunks to be placed in a school district of their choice. Sponsorships at $1500 per trunk will help cover the museums cost of developing lesson plans and support materials, the purchase of a steamer trunk, items in the trunk, and shipping. The sponsors name with an in memoriam or in honor of des ignation if desired will be written on the inside lid of the Trunk. Panama Canal Museum 2007 Make the Dirt Fly Commemorative Christmas Ornament featuring the Chief Engineers, John F. Stevens and Lt. Col. George W. Goethals This ornament commemorates the 100th anniversary of the passing of the shovel from Stevens to Goethals. Shoppers had plenty of items to choose from in the museum store in the Vendors Room at the Reunion. $20.00 each.
