Proclamation No. 243 by the Governor-General-in-Council j
on November 19, 1946 has withdrawn all species of citrue fruit
and the peel thereof, whether fresh or dried, frbm the list of
prohibited plants proclaimed in proclamation No. 151 of 1937.

Government Notice No. 2526 of November 29, 1946 by the
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry restricts the importation
of all species of citrus fruit and the peel thereof, whether
fresh or dried, to entry on the basis of a written permit from
the Department.

The importation of candied citrus peel remains unrestricted.

Accordingly, the second item under FRUITS on page 4 of
B. E. P. Q.--471, "Citrus. fruits" etc., should be eliminated
from the list of prohibited articles.
