The slides were taken on collecting trips sponsored by the William L. Bryant Foundation, where books, music and art indigenous to the regions were gathered. The are organized by geographical location.
This image shows children, a boy and girl, sitting on the sidewalk of a busy street with parked automobiles in Saint John, Antigua. There is a nearby parked truck carrying dry produce. Some dry produce bags and boxes, a few labeled Breezes, have been placed on the sidewalk. Two women are standing near the boxes and a poster advertising “The M.C.C. Tour 1968” which features cricket players. Some of the stores on this street include A. E. Bird American House and Schimmel Restaurant & Bar.
