OrderofProceedings for the OpeningofParliamentWednesday, 23rdMay, 2012 10:00a.m.1.Members Elect will assemble in their places in the Chamberofthe HouseofAssembly by9:45a.m.2.The Parliamentary Commissioner approaches the Barofthe House and presents the Clerkofthe House with the Writs and Returnsofthe General Election and with a certified listofMembers Elect.3.The Clerk reads the listofMembers Elect.4.The Clerk from his place invites the Members Elect to elect a Speaker.5.A Member Elect will nominate a Member to be Speaker.6.A Member Elect stands and seconds the motion.7.If there are no further nominations the Clerkofthe House will put the question and the Speakeriselected.8.Prayerisoffered.9.The Speaker will then make an address.10.The Speaker then takes the OathofAllegiance and the OathofQualification and invites all other Members to take the Oaths.11.The Speaker appoints a Committeeofthree (two government Members, one Member from the official Opposition to inform the Governor-Generalofthe electionofthe Speaker and that the House desires to know when His Excellency will receive the House in the precinctsofthe Senate.

J ] 1)12.The Committtee then leaves the Chamber to wait upon His Excellency the Governor General.13.The Speaker invites a motion for the electionofa Deputy Speaker.14.A Member stands and nominates another Member to be Deputy Speaker.15.A Member stands and seconds the motion.16.The Deputy Speakeriselected and makes brief remarks.17.The Committee of three appointed to wait upon the Governor-General reports thehourfixed by the Governor-General for the House to assemble in Rawson Square.18.The Black Rodofthe Senate summons the Speaker and MembersofParliament to the precinctsofthe Senate.19.The House Leader will then move a Resolution to permit the House to meet in the precinctsofthe Senate in Parliament Square.20.The Speaker attended by the Mace and MembersofParliament proceeds to the square and waits upon the Governor-General.21.Once in Parliament Square, the Speaker will inform His Excellencyofhis electionasSpeaker and claim the ancient Parliamentary Privileges for Members.22.The Governor-General reads the Speech from the Throne opening the 2012 Parliamentary Session.23.The Governor-General reads the Speech from the Throne.24.After reading the Speech the Governor-General gives a copy to the Presidentofthe Senate and the Speaker of the House and the Parliamentarians return to their respective Chamber.25.Back in the Chamber the Speaker reports the proceedings in the Senate and reads the first and last paragraphsofthe Speech from Throne.26.The Members take the OathofQualification.27.The Speaker orders that all Messages to the Governor-General be signed by the Speaker. 28. The Speaker appoints the Sessional Committees.

29.The Speaker then reads down the OrderofBusiness. 30.Atthe point in the OrderofBusiness for "Resolutions" the Government'Leader will move for the adoptionoftwo Sessional Resolutions: One authorizing the Speakertohave all BillsandPapers printed, and the other authorizing the Speaker to appoint a Chaplain.31.At the point in the OrderofBusiness for "Notices for Future Meetings" the Government Leader will give noticeofthe Resolution thanking the Governor-General for his Speech from the Throne.32.Any other Member wishing toputan item on the agenda in the formofBills, Resolutions, QuestionsorRequests for Select Committees will give notice at this time.33.Adjournment. The Government Leaderofthe House will move for the adjournmentofthe House and will set the date and time for the next sittingofthe House.34.The Speaker puts the question and the House stands adjourned.=
