F lorida International University I 11200 SW 8 th Street I GL 225A I Miami, FL 33199 Phone: 305.348.3008 I Email: dloc@fiu.edu dLOC Announces the 2014 Award Recipients July 2, 2014 For more than ten years, the libraries, archives and scholars working with the Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC) have collaborated to develop a resource that serves as a research foundation for Caribbean Studies. dLOC partners and members serve an international community of scholars, students, and citizens by working together to preserve and to provide enhanced electronic access to cultural, historical, legal, governmental, and research materia ls. Currently, the dLOC website ( www.dloc.com ) provides access to more than 2 million pages of Caribbean research materials and has registered more than 40 million pages viewed since 2006. The success of the dLOC collaboration relies on the support and dedication of many exceptional people and institutions. Each year during the dLOC Partner meeting at the ACURIL (Association of Caribbean Libraries) Co nference, dLOC is privileged to acknowledge some of those who make this resource possible. During the 2014 ACURIL Conference in Nassau, The Bahamas, dLOC recognized the people and institutions listed at the end of this message First introduced during the 2 004 ACURIL Conference, in this model t he partner libraries retain ownership of the collections yet provide access to collections and gain free access to additional resources digitized by other libraries, archives and even individuals. In addition to providing access to content, the program technological infrastructure and is establishing a long term funding strategy that combines institutional resources, member dues, grants and donations to ensure program sustainability.
