Because of increasing numbers of infestations of Mexican fruitflies w occurring in the regulated area in the Rio (rande Valley it has beme necessary to require the sterilization of Pranefruit moved interate from the Texas counties of Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy. The
resting season for grapefruit in these counties was eytended to the ose of June 15 for this year under administrative instructions of the reau (Circar B..P.Q. 531 dated Sentember 23, 1943).

the Bureau of Entomology and Plant Quarantine by paragraph (e) of
30164-, Chapter III, Title 7, Code of Federal Regulations (Notice nf arantine No. 64), it is hereby required that effective April 3, 1944, d continuing throughout the harvesting season to the close of June 15, all grapefruit, as a condition of certification for interstate
