Section 1. This Ordinance may be cited s the Plants Ordinonce,
Sec. 2. In this Ordinance:
"1l..-nts" includes any tree, shrub, or olant, or rortirn thereof,
sch as cuttings, buds, roots, tubers, bulbs, zeeds, Ieev',
barkc, fiber, fruit, and vegetables, whether fresh, dried, or

"Plants affected with insect nest or disease" includes the

Written Permit Required to Import Plants*
Sec. 3. NTo person shall introduce or attempt to introduce into
the Colony any plants from a place from which the importation of plants
has not been orohibited, except with the written permission of the Resi-
dent Coi iscioner, and upon such conditions (if any) as he shall tnink
fit to prescribe.
Sec. 4. Penalty for violations.

Sec. 5. If he shpll know or sus-ect any plants introduced into
the Coln to be affected iith iiisect uest or disease, it shall be lawful
for the Reside nt Commissioner to cause the saone to be examined and, if
neceo)' y, to be rendered innocuous or destroyed.
Ir)ortation of Any Plrint May Be Prohibited
Sec. 6. The High Commnissioner may at any time by oroclatnation
orohibit the importation into the Colony of any plant, of -lants Generally
or of s oecified plants from any soecified nloce, and either absolutely or

Baggage Liable to Inspection
Sec. 7. (1) On the arrival of any vessel from any place froM
which the inmportation of plants is prohibited at any port in the Colony
a port officer nay require any person then on board to produce his ca ,-
gage, clothing, and personal effects for inspection.
(2) The port officer may at his discretion seize such baggage,
clothing, and ersonal effects, or any portion thereof, and may cause
the same to be disinfected by fumigation and may, if deemed necessary,
destroy sed matting baskets made of native material, and native food-
stuffos % ether cook-ed or uncooked.
