SDecree To. 26S of October 1C-19 1933 (Diario Oficial :'o. 236, Oct
26, 1933), imposes certification requirements on plant material offered.
for entry into the Republic of Salvador. 'The text of this decree (in
Article 1. The plant material included in the follov;inz tariff
numbers ha; been exer..vted from ir::port duty and consular fees for visaing
invoices and. shipping paers:
521-l-350-01 Seeds, bulbs, roots, rootstockls, bulbous roots,
and shoots, inedible.
321-1-30-002 Cottonseed for planting.
Art. 2. The following notes are inserted:
Note Io. 321 (a). Plants and seeds that fall within this chapter
and may at the same time serve as food prod:.cts for consumption, are placed
as such in section 2, title 1, chapter 2.
Note Eo. 321 (b). For the entry of plants and seeds that fall under
this chapter, t.he customs offices of the Rnpublic will require of the inter-
ested person a certificate of the cor-respondin agricultural phvtosanitary
office, visaed by the Cons-al of Salvador. The attestation of these docu-
menIts is free.
If shipments of plants and seeds are not accompanied by the said
-rtificate)., the 'iistry of Aricultr my order the destruction of plants
and seeds which may be ii.mo"ted into Salvador, if in its opinion the said
plants and seeds involve dnr- r if propa.at-ed; furthiermaore, the Ministry is
authorized to ordr the figation of the scme at the expense of the inter-
ested persons at any place deemed suitable, if the corresponding certificate
is not -,resented.
Art. 3. The preceding regulations become effective with plants and
seeds loaded 30 days after the approval of the present decree, as indicated
by the bill of la.ding.
