OFFIC OF February 2, 1901. I
J. E. T. BOWDEN, |
Mayor. *

Capt. W. M. Davidson,

City.

My dear sir:

I have been informed that you are the owner of a house situated

at the corner of Union and Hogan streets, occupied by a Mrs. Hunt. A

great many complaints have come into my office from the residents of that

locality to the effect that the woman is not living the life she should,

and is therefore not a desirable neighbor. It has been my endeavor since

my induction into office to keep women of loose character out of neighbor-

hoods highly respectable, as is the locality referred to. I have written

Mrs. Hunt that she must move, and under the law it is my duty also to notify

you. I hope you will assist me in my endeavor to keep the neighborhood in-

dicated, as well as other portions of the city, in a moral condition.

Yours very truly, ----

_) Mayor.
