Abstract:
Early days of baseball on St.Thomas, at the field in Hospital Grounds, now named The Lionel Roberts Stadium, after the early champion of the Organic Act. Fans line the field between third base and the right outfielder dressed in the knicks-style long socks blousing the pants. In the background, the Bluebeard Hotel, one of the earliest in St. Thomas, crowns the hill, and the first ironsheltered stand buttresses the homeplate batting fence.
