AMENDMENT 6 TO B. A. L ORDER 286-REGULATIONS GOVERNING
STHE SANITARY HANDLING AND CONTROL OF HIDES, FLESHINGS,
S HIDE CUTTINGS, PARINGS, AND GLUE STOCK, SHEEPSKINS AND
GOATSKINS AND PARTS THEREOF, HAIR, WOOL, AND OTHER
ANIMAL BY-PRODUCTS, HAY, STRAW, FORAGE, OR SIMILAR MA-
TEIAL OFFERED FOR ENTRY INTO THE UNITED STATES
BEffective October 1, 1926


i Under authority conferred upon the Secretary of Agriculture by
S.section 2 of the act of Congress approved February 2, 1903 (32 Stat.
'4791), it is ordered that the regulations governing the sanitary han-
ding and control of hides, fleshings, hide cuttings, parings, and glue
: stock, sheepskins and goatskins and parts thereof, hair, wool, and
I other animal by-products, hay, straw, forage, or similar material
Offered for entry into the United States, issued under date of May
29, 1924, and effective on September 1, 1924 (B. A. I. Order 286),
Sas amended, be, and the same is hereby, further amended as follows:
Section 3 of Regulation 9, as contained in Amendment 3 to B. A. I.
Order 286, dated February 25, 1926, is revoked, and in lieu thereof
Sthe following section, to be designated as section 3, is substituted:
Sm aETION 8. No previously used empty bags made from burlap or similar ma-
terial and no bagging, patches, or similar material made from used burlap or
similar material, shall be imported into the United States except upon compli-
Sauce with Regulation 2 and upon compliance with (a) or (b) following:
S(a) Such bags, bagging, patches, and similar material may be imported with-
1:: :.. out dislnfectioni if originating in and shipped directly from a country d(leclared
F : by the Seeretar' o0f Agriculture to be free from foot-and-mouth disease and
p; rinderpest; or
AI (b) Such bags, bagging, patches, and similar material shall be disinfected at
S the port of entry in accordance with methods prescribed by the chief of bureau:
; Provided, however, That if such bags, bagging, patches, and similar material
a : re to be manufactured into paper or other products at an establishment at
S which the methods employed are adequate for disinfection as determined by the
l chief of bureau they may be forwarded from the port of entry to the establish-
ment where they are to be manufactured, in cars or other vehicles sealed with
*1 tihe seis of the department, and such cars or other vehicles shall be cleaned
:, and diasinfected in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 14 of these
