Summary:
Diaries. These diaries relate local events from Mount Dora and vicinity, as reported by Longstreet.
Biographical:
Union navy officer, business owner, citrus farmer.
Biographical:
Soon he also bought a 10-acre orange grove in Round Lake, Florida. He and his family wintered there, and in 1888 they became permanent residents, engaging in citrus farming and bee-keeping. He taught Sunday school, and became President of the Lake County Sunday School Association. Longstreet died on March 26, 1901, after which his wife and three children, Cora E., Carrie L., and Herbert C., moved to their other home in Coronado Beach, Florida.
