The caption on the back reads: "The African Tuliptree--(Spathodea companulata) is one of the showy flowering trees of Panama. Native of tropical East Africa, Panama has two varieties, one flowering six months, the other blossoming the remaining half of the year. It is sometimes called the fountain tree as the pulpy buds emit a squirt of water when squeezed."
