USARCARIB at an awards ban-
quet Friday evening in the Fort
Kobbe NCO Club. Major Gener-
al Theodore F. Bogart, Com-
manding General of USARCAR-
IB, made the formal presenta-
tion of trophies and medals.

General Bogart told the 14-
nation gathering of ma*ksmen
that "the bonds of friendship
and comradeship that unite all
of you have been strengthened"
through the associations of the
invitational match.

The .general said that the re-
sults of the 1961 match show
that the firing of all competit-
ors was much improved over
the records made in the inau-
gural event last year. He con-
gratulated the shooters and
wished them "better shooting
rext year."

"We hope to see all of you
in the- future," General Bogart
said, "and we .will do every-

General Bogart awarded tro-
i'".es to the winning teams and
medals to each of the team

Calling Again

By KARFOO- RAYMOND
This is the position where
JACMEL can be seen on the
smallest map of the world, cloi-
stered as a perle in the Carib-
bean bassin, with her beautiful
bay clamped like an oyster -be-
tween the-jaw of "BAGUETTE"
Peninsula and the powerful and
rocky "CAP D E S MARE-
CHAUX".
Of course, this is only con-
cerning geography arid naviga-
ion. Do not ask a happy motor-
ist from Port au Prince to find
it so easy, because after four
hours of bumping along, the riv-
er road, he %wll feel as if he
had to dig his- way through the
center of the wet world.
As .in Geometry, let us consi-
der that the solution is found
(quiet optimistic) and the long
expected road from Port au
Prince to Jacmel becomes a
reality; -here are a few ideas
and suggestions on how to spend
time in this delightful western
city.,
Spear Fishing Casting, Throl-
ing,- danoing could be captivat-
ing, not only for the abundance
of delicious fishes to catch, but
also and- mainly for the beauty
of the landscape offered 'to the
fisherman, while cruising either
east or west from Jacmel. Plen-
ty of: little creeks and lagoons
'are strung along the coast where
you can "invade" for a picnic
on white sand beach, under the
shade of coconut trees.
Horse Back Riding: Believe it
or not. you don't heed a car to
go places. The most interesting
sites called:- Baguette, Bassin
Bleu, La Montagne, La Vallee,
Fort Oge in Cap Rouge can eas-
ily be reached in one or two
hours time on these full sized
well-fed-well breed horses, which
Mr Favard Denis (Excelsior Ho-
tel) will be happy to supply to
you, upon your request. Speak-
ing of horses, the lovely airport
field could be transformed nito a
race track for Sunday afternoon
entertainment. Colorfully paint-
ed tribune and long line of flag
poles -with banners floating in
the air, would contrast so nicely
with the. surrounding mountain
verdure. Don't forget that BET-
TING would be- the modus vi-
vendi in such a gay atmosphere.
Visiting The Old French Colo-
nial Type (Is To The Lazyest
one, who enjoys climbing up the
thiee stories high city, linked
by stairway streets, watching
the artists wondering in their
"St Germain des Pres" attitude
to-look for the inspiration which
may bring one more piece of
art, to, the already rich collect-
ion that can- be found in the
private home of Mr Roger La-
mark and the Ambroise family.
From the "PLACE D'ARMES"
you take the rue Francisco Mi-
randa. After a three minutes
walk, you are in the "Bel Air"
the most active part of the city.
Mer is also the old famous
Church with her as famous
