ORCiD latest updates from Ryan Rushing (UF Libraries Graduate intern) Developed and demonstrated introductory multimedia ORCiD training material i. The ORCiD training module will be shared with MSL faculty for testing 1. This is the first of several. Others include ELN, zenodo, OSF. Discussed ORCiD training module development in Articulate 360 with Storyline Explained the context surrounding the development of this project Recommend ed good recording devices (e.g. Blue Ye ti microphone) when creating videos Discussed scripted PowerPoint presentati on and unscripted video recordings Recommended a glossary of terms with definitions embedded in training modules Discussed Storyline with LT integration capabilities (e.g. quiz, test, completion ) Researched 20 peers (e.g. ORCiD integration with IR, guidance, training) i. Recommended suggestions to improve ORCiD @ UF adoption Discussed when to use and not to use webcam during select recordings UFIT recommended regular monitoring and tracking of ORCiD @ UF (e.g. identity management) for benchmark, metrics, and strategic developments Special Collections d iscussed hig her level stakeholders ideas/strategies for ORCiD articulation for senior level engagement/support (e.g. President Provost) 2. Version control survey/GitHub Enterprise discussions Discussed d evelop ment of UFIRB protocol for version control survey i. The serve will serve two purposes: (1) a version control assessment, (2) a feasibility evaluation study for campus wide license, and (3) data collection in support for the deve lopment of relevant GitHub use cases. 3. Electronic Lab Notebooks Discussed need for more research on select ELN s (e.g. LabArchives and Sc iNote) i. What are the licensing options? ii. iii. What are Security challenges? Identified and selected LabArchives and SciNote (used by UF faculty) for further evaluation, analysis, and presentation at a future DMCWG meeting. i. An Articulate training module on ELN s imilar to the ORCiD tra ining module demonstrated today will be created for future training. Som e ELN include LabArchives SciNote HiveBench (Elsevier), RSpace University of Cambridge ELN guidance see example i. This is good but not applicable to UF. UF must identify and recommend a n ELN that mostly meets multiple communities of pra ctice for support. ii. The 2017 data survey, UFIRB #201602303, revealed 80% support of a university wide ELN solution. 4. Data repository (e,g. invenio, CKAN) Discussed the need to identify and analyze data repository for IR integration. i. Need to evaluate, analyz e, and present on data repository/IR integration. ii. Develop and report to group at end of the semester iii. Recommended data repository should pursue and/or meet the Data Seal of Approval (DSA) The Core Trustworthy Data Repository Requirements 5. G rants, Misc., &Other UFIC Global Fellows Finding Funding 1/19/18 meeting i. Briefly discussed pivot to search and find research funding support 1. Go to 2. Select Logi n in upper right 3. Signup or login in with username and password 4. Click on Funding 5. Click on Advance Search 6. Add search criteria 7. Click Search ii. Did not demonstrate at todays meeting but will at next meeting.
