I Demand balances with domestic banks (except reciprocal balances and balances with private banks and American branches of foreign banks), plus cash items In process of collection.
The difference between the figures shown in tiln column and the figueurs shown against the coriesponding captions under "Assets" of member banks is aucuauuid for by an rxce'ss of
allowable deductions over gross demand dr-posuit at one bank.
'Reserves actually required are based on deposits at opening of business. The figures iin this column, therefore, represent the reserves required to be maintained on the busiuess day follow-
Ing thecalldate. The requirements as to reserves to be maintained by each member bank are as follows Time deposits-6 percent for all member banks; net demand deposits-20 percent for
central Reserve city banks, 18 percent for Reserve city banks and 12 percent for country banks.
I The figures shown in this column are the differences betl en reserve balances reported by member banks on the call date and the reserves required to be maintained on the first business day
following the call date. They are, therefore, merely approximnat ions of the reserve position of member banks.
4 The cash in vault and reserve with approved national banking associations.
