Atlantic showed the greatest percentage increase at 15 percent, followed by
the West at 14. Gross income for other regions were up as follows: West
North Central, 8 percent; North Atlantic, 7 percent; South Central, 5 percent
and East North Central, 1 percent.

slightly from the 106.5 million raised in 1968. Turkey production during 1969
totaled 2,024 million pounds, 1 percent more than a year earlier.

earlier and totaled 106.1 million birds. Growers reported 80 percent of the

with 2, 025 million pounds in 1968.

totaled 3, 396, 000 birds, up 3 percent from the 3, 290, 000 birds on hand a year
earlier. Heavy breed hens totaled 3, 059, 000 birds, up 4 percent from a year
earlier and light breed hens, at 337,000, were unchanged from January 1, 1969.
