1982 Algiers International Fair, August 25-September 10, 1982 at the Onafex Fair
Site in Algiers, Algeria. Algeria's desire to expand the Agricultural sector is
reflected in the fact that in 1978 imports of food amounted to $218 million 212 of
the countries total import bill. The Algerian 1980-84 5 year development plan
emphasizes the Agriculture and irrigation section calling for the spending of $7.2
billion on Agriculture programs alone. Firms interested in participating in the
Algerian Trade Fair should contact Dave Horridge, International Trade Administration,
U.S. Department of Commerce. Phone: (202) 377-4831 for copies of the Algerian Fair
participation kit.
