Brazilian requirement for livestock imports. Dr. Chieffi, Secretary of
the Holstein Association of Brazil, indicates that effective immediately
animals to be approved for importation to Brazil must be transferred from
the ownership of the American seller to the Brazilian buyer. Dr. Chieffi
points out this is the responsibility of the U.S. export agent who is also
responsible for providing the buyer an official four generation pedigree on
each animal intended for export to Brazil.
