Foreign Trade Developments


U.S. Agricultural Trade Offices: Six Agricultural Trade Offices have been opened by
the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The most recent, established under authority
granted in the Agricultural Trade Act of 1978, are in Singapore and Seoul. The
purpose of the new offices is to aid America's agricultural export effort in major
marketing areas by providing assistance to U.S. individuals, cooperatives, and firms
exporting or seeking to export agricultural commodities. Accordingly, these offices
will be focal points for export sales promotions and act as a contact point for
importers seeking to buy farm products from the U.S.

The Second Annual Kansas Beef Expo -- March 3, 4, 5, 1980 at the Kansas Coliseum,
Wichita, Kansas. Excellent beef breeding cattle representing nine breeds from the
Midwest will be exhibited and sold. Last year over 550 breeding cattle sold during
the three day event and more are expected this year. Breeds represented are Angus,
Charolais, Gelbvieh, Hereford, Limousin, Main-Anjou, Polled Herefords, Simmental and
