FAS Closes Miami Trade Office. Effective November 13, 1981, the FAS Agricultural
Trade Office in Miami, Florida will cease operations. The office was opened
September, 1979 to service trade inquiries in the Northern Caribbean and Central
American area and to supervise FAS sponsored market development activities. With
the growth of the Mexican market, an additional professional has been assigned to the
Agricultural Counselor's staff to handle market development activities. The current
situation in Central America limits market promotion activities in that area. The
Northern Caribbean markets will be serviced by other FAS offices.
